Avin, Creature Handler

A talented monster handler with a troubled past, Avin struggles to find his place in a world that has burned him at every turn. After leaving his manipulative parents at a young age, he took up whatever odd jobs he could get his hands on, trying desperately to stay fed and gather the knowledge required to pursue his dreams of maintaining a small monster ranch. His big break came in the form of one of the larger local ranchers, a man by the name of Ward, finding him between jobs, in turn offering a contract with the potential for permanent employment once he saw Avin's skills for himself. However, that supposed "big break" turned out to be the beginning of a downward spiral with irreparable consequences...
At what point does a character stop being a fandom oc and just become an oc in their own right? Asking for a friend.
Anyway, like his fantasy incarnation, this more western Avin's got a couple of lovely non-human boyfriends. Playing with some ideas of how to tell the expansive story they're all wrapped up in. Until then, just felt like sharing this year's current best thing I've done.
