I updated to # at first, everything looked nice, they even added a new real-time render engine!
then working on my projects I discovered a persistent crash in the Nvidia Iray. No big deal, just restart the pc, take a new scene and give it something easy peasy to "stretch its legs" to later move on to the project.
no success. even the most basic scene does not work.
CPU rendering is brutally slow.
GPU dies, 0% activity, dead flat.
Oh yep, this is the main reason I cannot use my raptors models. now I can't do shit in it.
so until they fix the issue Daz Studio is out of commission.
My best option is SFM or Blender but I have NO EXPERIENCE.

I have carried out several tests before definitively installing Daz3d 4.14, and I do not encounter any persistent problems with the Iray renderings.
The only problems I have encountered are crashes with the filament rendering engine which seems totally useless to me when using Iray.
Did you install the latest version of the Nvidia drivers? What generation is your graphics card?

Filament does not allow to have an exact rendering of light sources especially when it comes from a so-called primitive object (emissive shader).
Regarding your Iray rendering problem. It seems that the new Iray version of Nvidia no longer supports certain series of graphics cards, notably the gtx 7xx series https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discus.....e-4-14-no-iray -solved

From what i have read about it, I'm not the only one who has these issues, the forum says that older graphics card ar not supported.
I was already going to buy a new one and also an i9 cpu but i need to save money for a sweet Toyota Supra mk3 i found in my country.
It's a lot of time i wanted to learn blender, and the time is now for me.
Just moving away from daz. For some time.

Thats a cool investment. But you know you have to upgrade the supra too :)
Last year I thought about a i9 too, but that was to expensive. I stick with the i7. For all of my computer systems, 1.3k is the money border. Go with blender. It had its flaws but It's a great tool for free.
