The borders between the Scaled Sovereignty and the Sylvan lands have been unstable for the past few decades. Scaled lords often go on campaigns to pillage small settlements and towns just across the desert. There are those civilians who follow the armies on either side as engineers, messengers, or medics. Parerza followed her lord's army for a while before ending up in a caravan helping other people aside from just those on her side. She's wandered farther into the interior of the country where it's quiet and almost boring. At the moment she's cooling her heels as the assistant to the town doctor.
