“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”
“Whisper! It’s time to come inside; it is getting cold!” A voice called from the distance…it was getting a chilly out, not to mention she had a busy day of work the following day. So of course, one would assume she would want to go home and get some rest-
No. Not Whisper. Ignoring the mother-like voice, she pulled her hoodie up on her head and ventured further into the woods. Cold weather never bothered Whisper; her thick, fluffy white fur kept her insulated so she rarely got cold. Plus it was quiet here, the perfect place to be alone and think…
Climbing up an oak tree, Whisper sat on one of its strong yet old limbs, and made herself comfortable. The person that was calling out to her could no longer be heard- at least this far in the forest as the trees muffled the sound of their voice.
She watched as the falling leaves whirled around in the breeze. The leaves that remained on the trees fought to hang on against the wind- it was perfect autumn weather! Hearing the faint crinkle of leaves and grass below, her ears twitched as she looked down, watching some rabbits scurry about. While part of her wanted to jump down and pounce on them to see if she could catch one, Whisper decided against it, knowing it would only frighten them away.
Instead, she bundled herself up in her hoodie and curled up against the tree branch for a quick catnap.
An odd place for a nap? Yes. But it seemed like the perfect spot to rest for a bit and escape from her troubles~
Guess who’s back…
Whisper with her fluffy, winter coat! Unfortunately, it’s not exactly cool where I live at: I’m still running my air conditioner at full blast because Mother Nature isn’t ready for us to have cool weather yet. At least the humidity is gone but still…
In the meantime, enjoy some happy, fluffy Whisper.
She is in her element this time of year, so she tends to be way more active and productive in the autumn and winter compared to warmer months.
I want to give a very special thank you to the artist behind this piece :linkpetitemimi. She did this piece for me, and it seemed like the perfect way to bring back Whisper for the season!

I wouldn't call it that odd of a nap place. It might look uncomfortable, but I think napping on a tree looks fun :o Also nice of her not to startle the rabbits :p

Well I figure since she's part feline it actually would make sense for her to not only like to climb trees, but also take naps in them!
The rabbit part, not so much- she actually used to have a "pet" rabbit, at least in her feral form, so she enjoys pouncing and playing with them-

Fluff is great :3 not sure about deadly... depends where it's pointed... >-> But more of any art of fluffy Whisper, and your amazing and captivating writing to go with it, I can't say no to >-< She's looking really cute in here. ^-^

You've seriously got a knack for writing, reading this made me super cozy. There's something really comfy and energizing about when that first cold front hits and you FINALLY get that transition from hot to chilly and nippy, the art, as well as your description really conveys that exact feeling.

Well thank you! Whisper's winter fur is 60 percent poofer than normal! I did that on purpose to signify a change in seasons and keep her warm in the winter.
I do enjoy writing. I don't have the time or creative energy I did when I was younger and had more free time, but I do try!
