So a friend of mine
Setsune_W recently posted a ref for their new fursona (by
F.Mr.Y). I really liked the design, and it seemed cool, so I wanted to do the most appropriate thing for a digital character and bring them into the 3rd dimension!
This was a challenge that took me several weeks, including several breaks. There were a lot of challenges and new things to learn. I was working with a ref that didn't have full front/back/side so I had to develop more of an understanding of how the character worked in 3D. It was also my first recent serious attempt at a non robotic character, and of course all those holograms and transparency. I learned a lot more about how to handle Materials and Shaders in Blender.
Thanks to
Felix for a lot of feedback and helpful advice. They helped me out with stuff like anatomy, lighting (including linking a video where I got the idea for the lighting of this scene), rigging, redlining, and of course, linking me to a tutorial where I learned about the Wireframe Modifier that makes wireframes visible and customisable (which I'm sure you can see was very helpful here). Seriously, really appreciate Felix giving me the help, if you want to see more cool 3D anthro stuff, definitely check out their work.
Thanks also to
Tapewolf for some other feedback and tweaks.
In closing, I'm really happy I brought this to fruition. I think the background really adds to it too, and I'm glad everything seems to have come together! Hope you like!
