Producer: Garion Armory (Primarily)
Years in Service: 23rd Age 10th Year to Present
Type: Select fire combat pistol
Cartridge: 14.7x34mm HVAP-S (High Velocity Armor Piercing-Short)
Variants: M12 Standard, M12 Compact, M12 Heavy
One of the most universal pistols in the Republic, the M12 is the go-to secondary weapon for almost all personnel in the Republic Armed Forces, Home Guard, and civilian sectors. The pistol has a reputation of being small but quite an effective pistol, however it is a slightly heavier pistol. The pistol is currently being produced by all arms manufacturers within the Republic to ensure that there is a steady flow of these pistols to the military and population. However, this pistol originated from Garion Armory. The M12 is a select fire, short recoil operated pistol.
The standard-issue M12 is 34cm long, this variant is by far the most popular, with heavy use by most of the military and civilian sectors. There is a second variant which is called the Compact and this variant is 28cm long, this variant is mostly used by undercover Home Guard officers, criminal organizations, as general back up pistols or conceal carry pistols. The odd thing about this pistol is that it has two different designs, one being a more traditional pistol and the other being a forward magazine fed pistol. The forward fed magazine is the heavy variant of the M12 while the traditional pistol is considered standard. The M12 IDW uses the standard-issue 14.7x34mm HVAP-S. Typical magazine sizes are 10 (Compact only), 12, 15, 20 round detachable box magazines. The M12 comes with a three point selector switch, which features full auto, semi-automatic and safe. The M12 has a match trigger, meaning that when in semi-automatic the rate of fire is dependent on how fast the operator can pull the trigger. However, when placed in the full automatic setting, the rate of fire is around 600 rounds per minute.
Stock sights are the standard three post iron sights with a holographic screen sight. Being a modular pistol the M12 comes with the option of extended magazines, pistol sights, laser sights, and different muzzles.
Notes: I know, its a derpy pistol, but I love it. I also could not decide on the broomhandle look or the luger look so I went for both. The idea and lore behind it was that both armories produced pretty good pistols, unable to decide High Command just chose both and use both regularly.
