Prologue Part 2:
Trevor's Perspective:
Trevor just managed to get all of his children to sleep, but he himself was terrified. He paced back and forth, urgently waiting for Tabitha's return.
He walked up to the radio and turned it on, making sure the volume was low enough to not disturb the napping children. He pulled out some of his maps, as he
mentally prepared himself for the worst, He pulled out a piece of paper from his journal and he read it over. "It's going to happen this year, As much as I want to deny it, I know it!," Trevor muttered to himself. He held the paper up carefully, His expression turned to concern as he looked at his children, who were napping in the next room "We didn't want you kids to experience whatever cruel fate this may bring... but luckily it will never happen again in your lifetimes," Trevor said gently "Environmental Alert for The Cretaceous and The Middle and end of the Jurassic Periods!" The radio said, interrupting the program.
"Extreme Earthquake Warning, High Wind Warning Issued until 1:17 pm, Due to a sudden change in the Atmosphere in the end of the Cretaceous, please exercise caution if you're outdoors, but take shelter immediately if you're in the mid to late Cretaceous Period!" The radio added. Trevor's face fell as he grabbed a blanket and grabbed all 6 of his children, pulling them into the center of the main room.
He was holding them down with a thick blanket over them as he shielded that with his own body. He knew that it wasn't just an Earthquake or High Winds...
"Stay still!" He pleaded with them as the house shook violently, the bookcase fell immediately with a loud thud, and the sound of the windows beginning to crack by the tremors, He shielded his eyes by tucking his face into the blanket. The children were confused and intimidated by the chaos, but the sound of the windows shattering by some unknown force
was the cause of their screaming and crying. "I'm here children! You're all safe! Daddy's right here!" Trevor said loudly so he could be heard over the
sound of the chaos. It felt like the children were fighting each other to try to get closer, which if he were to tell the truth, made his attempt to keep them under
the blanket a little easier. It was the longest and most dreadful 7 minutes of his life, between keeping his children safe from the tremors and keeping them calm
and trying to maintain his composure made him feel hopeless and fearful that it'll never end. As soon as everything calmed down and sat up, He felt relieved to know that his children were safe, but something lingered in the back of his mind, and he realized it long before his children did.
But he couldn't show them, no... at least not without confirmation... "Is everyone okay?" He asked as he allowed them out from their safe haven. His children only
whimpered fearful of what just happened. The house was now a mess, broken glass and knocked over furniture, but they didn't know how to react. Sarah, the youngest daughter
looked up at Trevor, in a terrified voice she asked "Where's Mama?" Trevor couldn't allow to show his real emotions "I-I think she's at work sweetie," He replied.
"When will she come home? I'm scared," Sonny replied. Tears began to fall down his face as he knew that there was a real possibility that he'll have to tell them the
grim truth "I-I'm not sure kids... She might be-" He wasn't able to finish his sentence. He only answered their questions about what was going on, but wasn't able to tell
them what could've happened to their beloved mother. Trevor looked away as he bit his lower lip, as he felt like he knew what happened to his most beloved wife. But he needed to get confirmation first, and he knew he had to get to the Station...
