Zydrate's "E-Z Bake" Rainbow Pancake Cake!
This is fun and easy to do whether if you're bored and want to do something creative or want to entertain the kids! THIS DOES NOT REQUIRE AN OVEN!
You will need:
1 Large glass bowl
4 Small glass bowls
1 Box of pancake mix (The simple type where you just add water)
1 Half a cup of water
Pam cooking spray (or Veggie oil)
Food dye
White frosting (I used Betty Crocker white WHIPPED frosting)
1 Teaspoon of sugar
1 Piping bag.
Any flavoring extract of your choice (I used Vanella)
~~~
HOW TO:
Okay! First you need to make your batter. Pour half the bag into the large bowl and add the half cup of water. You can add more water if it's too thick or add more mix if it's too thin. Add your extract flavoring and teaspoon of sugar into the batter and mix it all up!
Step two - Take the batter and evenly pour it in each small bowl. Then take the food dyes of your choice and put 3 drops in each bowl ( 1 color per bowl), mix it up!
Step three - Wash out the larger bowl and spray it with Pam or drizzle some cooking oil.
Step four - Pour one colored batter into the bowl at a time until you've layered all the batter together. DO NOT MIX IT UP!
Step Five: Take the large bowl of pretty batter into the microwave. On high for 3 minutes. Let it sit for 2 minutes. IT IS HOT! Be careful.
Step Six: Now you've got your cake! Now to make it cool enough to handle, stick it in the freezer for 20 minutes. Take it out and use a butterknife or spoon to go around the edges of the bowl to help it be an easy removal. Turn bowl upside down and tap it until cake comes out.
FROST!
Okay you've baked your cake, now we frost.
You can leave the frosting white or you can dye it any color you want and frost it that way.
For decoration and you really want to be creative, you can mix up some frosting with another color and put that in a piping bag and make cute designs!
If you don't have a piping bag like me, I used a Ziploc sandwich bag and poked a hole in one corner and poured the frosting in there. I tied up the top and squeezed it out that way!
Stick in the frisge for 30 minutes to harden up the frosting a little. Cut and serve! Or..just serve the whole thing. :3
Allergy warning: Contain Dairy (frosting) and flavor extract.
