Prompts were ‘cozy’ amd ‘pumpkin’!
Fredric isn’t a nice person, nor even a very good one. His one redeeming feature is loving his own son, though, and I thought he needed some art to show it!
Drawing this had me thinking about my own characters’ stories a bit more. I used to imagine Rudy as being born with his paralyzed leg, but now I think it’d suit him more to have had it happen in some accident that also affected his long-term memory; also a reason why he’s got no clue as an adult that Fredric is his father. It also gives a good reason for his name being totally different. I suppose that’d make his real name Rudolph Fluglemeyer :0
Not sure where he’d get Rugaard Gryphon out of that, but he does play a LOT of dnd so I supposed he just named himself whatever sounded cool.
Art-wise, I’m proud of this! I’m actually going through with doing prompts this year on top of catching up with comms and moving. This is my first backgrounded scene in Procreate and I’m really proud of it. I’ve been using the airbrush to soften my shading since there’s no gradient tool like in Krita, and I’ve found that this gives me a bit more control. That along with fiddling with curves for every picture now has levelled up my lighting, imo~ :>
