The third movement - "Romanza." This one has huge variance in emotion. It's calm, passionate, eerie, wild, sarcastic, and beautiful all at different times. The title suggests all of the passions, ups, and downs of romance in all its forms.

The interpretation was largely due to extensive time spent on interpretation in coachings in college. My suggestions to the group this time (I was the only one who was familiar with this piece) largely were identical to the comments I received in college. So I can agree- I think they're good decisions. Hehe!
The opening of this movement is so interesting to me, since the oboe has the clear melody, and my part had "accompagnando" as an expressive marking, but I also had "molto rubato" and many tenuto markings throughout that suggest a lot of extreme pushing and pulling of the tempo underneath the solo oboe. Interesting since usually it's the solo voice that makes these expressive decisions.
