Character design commission for a very lovely client on my Facebook art account.
This one is inspired by Flabellinopsis iodinea, commonly known as the spanish shawl. These particular nudis can store stinging nematocysts of the hydroids they eat in the "tentacles" on their backs called cerata. The bright oranges and yellows are a result of astaxanthin carotenoids which is passed through the food chain into their diets. I hope you like them! ❤
