This lovely lady was an adventure and a half. First off, she was painted in a single sitting. Secondly, she was a deep delve into my personal style, and what I want that style to be moving forward from here.

So for a while, I was trying to step away from using 3D models that I had created as a base for painting, because for some reason I was convinced it was a crutch to my progress. I had teachers scold me in art class when I was young about using guides to get proportions correct, and it really stuck with me that art had to be difficult to be good. Art does not have to be painful, and it most certainly does not have to be without guidance. I need to get out of my 'this is cheating' mindset. As a wise Moose said to me earlier today, "there's no cheating in art, only stealing." So if it's still my own creation and I like the way it looks in the end, I shouldn't stop myself from doing my best work, especially if I enjoy the process.
