It was a not-so-ordinary day at Quack-Quack’s Learning Farm. This was because the weather outside was very windy and cool despite the sun shining bright and hot out in the playground.
Oxnard, the hamster, and Bosky, the fox cub, were flying a kite that featured one of the characters from the ‘Pony Magic’ cartoon show. This attracted the attention of Yosh, the dino-duck, which gave Nishi, the orange Yoshi, the opportunity to remove the little quacker’s shorts. This revealed Yosh’s duck-print diaper as Nishi ran off using the green-and-white colored toddler’s shorts as a makeshift kite.
“Hey, Yosh!” greeted a blue dragon who was clad in just a balloon-print diaper. “Still trying to learn the potty?”
Yosh sighed.
“Yeah,” he replied. “Though I no know if it is good.”
“Have you talked to Zee-Zee?” a red dragon with silver hair asked. “He is the biggest of big boys.”
Yosh lowered his head and nervously fiddled with his fingers.
“Not now, Tacki,” the blue dragon stated. “We all in potty pants and no need worry about get out of potty pants now.”
“Oh?” questioned the red fledgling who was wearing a Cub Scout costume without pants. “I thought we not wear pants so we have easy time being big kids, Toroth?”
Toroth smiled at his winged friend.
“Diapers are potty,” he stated. “And we have an adventure!”
“Adventure?” wondered Yosh as he flicked his finger in front of his beak.
Toroth nodded and grabbed the dino-duck by the arm.
“Adventure!” he repeated with glee as he fluttered his wings and scampered in place. “It a magic day!”
“Magic day?” wondered Yosh.
Tacki smiled while swishing about his silver-hair tipped tail.
“Yes!” he announced with authority. “We must enter the woods to find the Magic Pinwheel!”
“Huh?” Yosh wondered as he was being brought forward by Toroth.
“No time!” cheered the ham-loving, blue dragon. “Important we find Magic Pinwheel to stop wind from being so cold and noisy!”
“Forward!” commanded Tacki as the trio , which featured an off-balanced Yosh, headed away from the playground towards the nearby forest.
***
WHOOOO
The three friends shivered as a strong gust of wind blew through the dirt path leading into the forest.
“As predicted!” Tacki announced. “We go towards wind and fix Magic Pinwheel!”
“Cold,” stated Yosh while sticking his hands down into his diaper.
“Really?” giggled Toroth. “It not so bad.”
“C’mon!” ordered Tacki. “Potty pants stop wind. We must be brave!”
Toroth took Yosh’s hand from his diaper and held the lavender scented, powder covered wrist tightly.
“Adventure!” cheered Toroth as he moved onward with Tacki. However his feet seemed to be a bit off-balanced as his diaper had apparently gotten a bit thicker in the front and between his legs.
***
Yosh’s exposed chest and cheek feathers felt quite chilled as he, Toroth, and Tacki continued down the well maintained path.
“There!” cried the red dragon while pointing a claw towards a bird bath. “I look at map to verify location.”
The bird bath was too small for Yosh. However the sound of the trickling of the water being filtered and replenished within made him feel a lot warmer and confident.
“What map say?” he asked in a sudden burst of enthusiasm. “You read?”
“I read!” argued Tacki while pointing towards a crayon drawn series of pictures, lines, and odd symbols. “We here and need get there to fix Magic Pinwheel.”
“How exciting!” cheered Toroth as he gleefully flapped his wings and trotted in place. His diaper straining to hold as a result of all the walking, running, and additional weight it was holding.
Tacki crumpled up the piece of construction paper and put it into the pocket of his Cub Scout costume.
“We go that-a-way!” he commanded. “Forward, troops!”
***
Crinkles and squelches accompanied the pitter-patter of young feet as they came to a circular garden that was surrounded by a ring of concrete.
“There,” whispered Tacki as he held out an arm to block the forward motion of Yosh and Toroth. “We here.”
“Huh?” wondered Yosh while trying to look past Tacki’s arm.
“Shh,” shushed the blue-eyed leader. “It is defended by monsters.”
Toroth chuckled.
“Monster,” he stated. “I no afraid of monsters.”
Tacki grew a look of annoyance.
“I no afraid of monsters, too,” he countered in a louder voice. “But these monsters very strong and we need strat-eggy.”
Yosh backed up, tripped, and fell on his sodden padded bottom.
“That why I here!” announced Toroth while pretending to crack his knuckles. “I strong one who beat up strong monsters. I fight monsters while you and Yosh fix Magic Pinwheel!”
“Is someone there?” a voice called out. “Show yourself.”
The trio gulped upon hearing the authority in the voice.
“This wind is definitely refreshing,” another voice stated. “Though are you sure you heard someone?”
“I’ve got great hearing,” the first speaker replied as footsteps started to grow closer to the group’s location. “And whoever is there better show themselves as it is not nice to spy on someone.”The band of whelps froze in place as fear gripped their young hearts. However a sudden warmth came over them that returned their courage.
“Okay, Toroth,” stated Tacki. “Distract monster while Yosh and I fix Magic Pinwheel.”
The green-eyed, blue dragon smiled as he started to punch at the air and make the turn towards where he heard the voice coming from.
“I roll twenty!” he cried. “I get first turn and do big damage!”
“Yosh,” stated Tacki while motioning forward. “You keep look for monsters while I fix Magic Pinwheel.”
The dino-duck appeared nervous, but did not want to disappoint his brave friend.
“I watch,” he whimpered. “Go fix pinwheel.”
***
Tacki, despite the burden of a swollen diaper, made his way to the pinwheel that had been knocked onto its side.
“This it,” he said while reaching for the pole that supported the wind-powered lawn ornament. “Put back right and save day.”
“Aha!” one of the voices cried out in gleeful triumph. “I got you!”
“NO!” shouted toroth. “HELP!”
Tacki did not like losing a member of his team. However he knew the mission had to come first.
“SQUACK!” yelped Yosh.
“Never thought I’d find you here,” the other voice stated. “Looks like I did so just in time, too.”
The leader of the team felt sweat pouring from his brow as he clumsily worked to put the pinwheel upright.
“Got it!” he announced proudly.
SNATCH!
“Got you!” the first voice announced while wrapping a massive arm around the red dragon’s torso and lifting him into the air. “You must be the leader of this band of babes?”
Tacki turned to see the face of a uniformed stork whose logo was a picture of a duckling happily raising a baton into the air. He also could see Toroth have given up in escaping the restraint of their captor as he slumped in the support of the large bird’s other arm as he was held much like one would hold a football.
“I think it’s just these three,” a yellow penguin whistled while cradling Yosh over her shoulder. “We should probably go and take care of them back at the center.”
“A novel idea, Ms. Macaroni,” chuckled the stork as he positioned Tacki under his arm in the same way he had Toroth restrained on his opposite side.
***
Tacki’s eyes fluttered as he sat himself up. He was in a bed surrounded by bars, stripped of his uniform, and just a little bit scared.
“Tacki,” yawned Toroth as he joined his friend at the bars that separated the pair from the rest of the room. “Did you fix the Magic Pinwheel?”
The red dragon was trying to remember when a familiar pair of voices spoke.
“No more kite,” the one pouted. “So might as well nappy-nap.”
“It just stopped,” the other stated. “It’s like someone stopped it by doing something.”
“Tacki!” fluttered Toroth. “I think we did it! We saved the day!”
The red dragon gave his blue dragon friend a hug.
“Our effort work!” he proclaimed. “Though we captured and Yosh is no here.”
“Nuh-uh,” stated Toroth while pointing towards a corner of the room. “He being inter-gated.”
Tacki saw Yosh blowing spittle bubbles while in the arms of a yellow penguin who was rocking in a chair.
“That it, solder!” encouraged the red dragon. “No tell nothing but name, rank, and favorite cereal!”
Toroth yawned.
“Sleepy,” he said. “Take nap knowing we save day?”
Tacki found himself yawning.
“Granted,” he replied while snuggling into Toroth and soon falling back to sleep alongside his friend and their bubble-snoring colleague. Their escape could wait. They could not hold Tacki and his First officer for long. They never had and never will.

Daw this was really a cute read n.n I know I don't often comment on your stories much (which I really should xP) but I do love all the little details you add into them ^^ such as character movement and how they talk, it really does make the story come to life
I really oughta get a story off ya one way or the other x3

I really have enjoyed writing stories and, at some point, would definitely enjoy getting to know you and your characters more through making a story. :)
I've been accepting art trades for stories, too. Those seem to work a lot better as, truly, most of us in the community are not bringing in much, if any, money. Plus, for me, I like knowing how different artists perceive Yosh.
I should also apologize to you as, in writing stories, I have fallen behind on posts. I may take a story writing break to catch up on all I have fallen behind on.
Thanks much for your time in reading this story. :)

Art trade sounds good if that's okay with you if it's one thing I like about trades, it's always drawing whatever cute characters they have. I've always loved that part ^^
And that's completely fine! I don't need a story with my characters to enjoy your stories, again the details and scenarios are a good read! I'd just like to get to know you more too through your characters x3
I'll be looking forward to your next piece of writing!

Well, I can certainly share there will be lots of writing to come. I have a few 'shorts' to do as I finish the last of the commissions / trades.
And, although without physical eyesight, I would gladly trade you a story for your interpretation on Yosh. (My character has largely been built on how others have perceived him. His entire appearance is largely the result of others with his personality coming from me.)
Here's to good times ahead! It will be nice to share words with you. You are always welcome to send me a PM / DM if you would like. :)

Heehee, what a cute story Yosh. I'm glad that you and Toroth sought to include me in it. Sorry for getting the both of you in so much trouble, but hey, our efforts helped make the day a little more comfortable for everyone. Sorry to Bosky and Oxnard for ruining their fun though!
How can our 'fearless leader' ever get us in trouble? We were captured, but the mission was a success. Successful missions and never giving away operation details still ensures all is well for Tacki's Infant Infantry. :)
It seemed right to include you given how 'Children Of Maeria' has Tacki and Toroth as a pair of pals. Lots of Tacki stories are not truly complete, to me, unless we bring red and blue together to make good times.
I am glad you liked the story, Tacki. Thanks for your time in giving it a once over. :)

Aw good job on the story, Yosh! Hehe you managed to include quite a few of us here. I like the lil cute details on the stork's shirt! And my part was totally fitting - your shorts make a nice cute kite! And you seemed to do just fine without em. :3 worked out for all of us!
Thank you for giving this little tale a read. I needed some characters to help support the fun with the wind and, previously, Bosky Boskeroo had done a picture of everyone flying kites. So the cameo made for illustrating how the wind was fun while, later, confirming that it had stopped.
Nishi, well, I do not know if Yosh did get his shorts back. They may have gotten lost in the wind.
They were bit roles, but all important in making the entire story work. Plus, well, it also allowed me to bring Ms. Macaroni back, too. A little self-indulgence never hurt. ;)
