The reference is from anime Murder Mistery / Video Game. "Umineko no naku koro"
were a Witch Murders an entire Family group of a Wealthy man who would give them the heritage to one of them if they discover where he hid all his wealth by midnight.
And a young boy which he was kill by her, refuse to believe that they die cause of "Magic" so the witch plays a REALLY complex game of Murder mystery.

Oh and to explain why is the Bubble red, Is because of the Mechanic of her Game.
Everytime she says something in red represents that this is the Truth of what happen. ("For example" What they were and where and when or What they were or where or when ) if she says something on red then it becomes truth and u cant alter it.

Sooo for the short term, because she said You are Small in red, It became truth and now he/she is small now.
