Modern Reboot Ren and Stimpy
So you want a modern reboot of Ren and Stimpy updated for a modern audience? Pastel floral hipster Stimpy and Ren is most certainly a chihuahua who closes the door behind him as he enters. It'll be like the Looney Tunes show: all dialogue, no funny visuals. Lets really play up Ren as an ultra conservative and Stimpy is the cute fluffy liberal. Total odd couple vibe thing going on.
I mean they can do that for ONE episode ... These two are pretty versatile like that. Make any episode you want with them... Just keep the animation strong and no tweening.
Also just spent the last 5 hours finishing this pic from 2019 while watching old episodes.

Would be nice if they just keep it pg to pg13... cause the show is now considered too adult for kids. It's got a lot of adult humor and scary moments that don't fly with modern sensibilities. But trying to be edgy and gross for the sake of being edgy and gross does nothing to make the series improve.
Or ANY Toon for that matter.
While I'm some for and cautious about being refreshed with new staff(depends on how it's handled), MAD the Animated Series handled this dilemma in one episode in the ending segment where Seth MacFarlane and a bunch of other Hollywood types get their mitts into adapting classic newspaper comic strip toons to bring attention back to them at the behest of Garfield. It was kind of a parody of Field of Dreams. Anyway, that episode made the point we're trying to make now: classic, amazing stuff doesn't have to be reinvented into something potentially horrible, just reintroduced. Gods, I miss MAD the Animated Series. Here's what I mean:

I know what you are getting at. And i agree. I liked LTS but more for some new ideas that were put into than the actual execution. The issue is always wasting the animation potential and missing the point of the characters. You want to do looney tunes version of seinfield. Do it. But do it really. Do not restrain youself go insane( best looney tunes show episodes were the ones where they let it go, expecially with lola and daffy). But they just didn't. Now with the WB is even worst. They play so effin safe(original looney tune were not safe, watching as adult you see somethign that make you realize how close to acid satire they were at times). Latest animaniac reboot nes say they just removed all characters, no slappy, no minerva, no chicken boo, no good feathers, peeeerhaps there is still hope for pinky and the brain...perhaps..and probably they will either do the usual shtick of the character againadn agin in the most trite and unfunny way, or go for soemthing all verbal puns..so they can save on animation too.....
....at least is not a teenager version of it where everyoen is attendign the same highschool....
There is alwasy worst you know...

The more I hear about the Animaniacs reboot the worse I feel about it. Like is it even a reboot if it's only the Warners? Just call it the Warner Brothers and Dot show... That's it. I can promise you this will upset normies. I just feel like CEOs and producers put their weight into the shows productions too heavily. They don't trust the staff that they hired to get the best idea out there... or the cartoonists really are that creatively stifled and ONLY know cartoons. I'm not apart of the industry so I can only complain from outside the building.
I too am not over excited about the Animaniacs reboot. Really seem that cartoon studios with few exceptions are playing as safe as possible, with very little creativity involved. But honestly i have no idea from what point of the creation process it started. Perhaps is a mix of factors. I would not exclude the fact that most modern cartoonist seem to be artistically lazy when coming to charwcters not of their own, or perhaps is like you said they only know cartoons, the most amateurish mistake.
Lol, that's ok. I was having fun with it but I got stuck and didn't have the motivation to finish it. It wasn't intended to be a "modern" take but it sort of was. Like what if you made an episode where they were two 40 somethings trying to live with hipper younger crowd... Everyone takes this pic in a different angle tho and I like that. It's either being ironic about the idea of a MODERN reboot or it's just a fun image with cool visuals that people want to see... I like both sides of that.
everything is being rebooted left and right these days so that's that's why it probably comes across as a reboot. especially with the recent rocko one. ren and stimpy could easily have a modern take episode and go back to their regular shenanigans the next tho
really cute image though its really fun seeing them in a modern sort of setting. especially stimpy looking all mature there lmao the lapels

UUuuuuuh, yeah? It's only shelved for now. Bob Camp was informed immediately and he might've been someone who put a halt on the show but if they can get him involved in an honest reboot, it'll be fine.
But the main annoyance is that there will always be a push back from the femes in the industry. They made this big huff that the new staff will be bullied by JK's fan base and so those people shouldn't be subjected to that harassment and I'm like... You don't go to war not expecting to get shot at. If someone wants to make this show, let them do it. The gate keeping going on is the worst part.
