And now for something completely different.
Two weeks ago,
vixyyfox submitted a poem about the sadistic joy of killing flies and challenged me to set it to music. I quickly pointed out to V that, “you are mistakenly equating guitar ownership with actual musical ability.” But I also pledged to try.
Now, I am not a songwriter (nor much of a storywriter either) having written only two songs in my 60 years on this planet. Of those, only one was any good and that’s because it was cowritten with a good friend.
After sitting on it for over a week, an idea began to take shape in my mind and, like a festering splinter, I had to get it out. The result, should you dare to listen, is here.
If you’d like to follow along with the lyrics, you will find Vixyy’s original post at: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37347042/ While you’re there, check out some of the other fine writing and photos in V’s gallery.
A couple of notes about the recording:
• I originally wanted to use my Seagull M4, being an unusual instrument for an unusual song, but fell back on guitar (I know that instrument best and can play an actual C-chord).
• I used a Zoom H4n Pro digital recorder, which is a pretty good little device. I wasn’t looking for great quality, however, just something to share with V, so I simply set it on the coffee table in my living room and pushed RECORD.
• When I shouted the line, “I HOPE THEY DROWN!” one of my dogs grew alarmed. You can hear her growling in the background. I kind of liked that and decided to keep it.
We return to our regularly-scheduled photographs next week.

There are several moments where you sound on the verge of bursting into laughter, and honestly, I don't blame you! Also, nice to hear that cameo from your dog; in canine, that translates to "Hear, hear!"
This was great to listen to! Thanks very much for sharing it, and to Vixyy for the lyrics. ^__^
