First Dragon Mug Attempt Improved

I was looking through my sketchbook the other night, and I decis=ded to make an attempt to fix this drawing and give shading another go. I got to the point where I didn't think I could make it better. Meh. I think what my problem is, is that I have a difficult time with the light source and imagining the drawing as a 3-dimentional figure. I think that maybe I should try drawing some of my dragon statues with a light cast on them to amplify the highlighted and shaded areas.
EDIT: Well at least this time I didn't have to mess with the contrast and darken the image to make it visible on the computer screen.
