When I finish a piece that I don't entirely like I will often tell myself that I start over and redraw it, but I usually don't. When I finished the last Green Lion picture I paused in the middle to experiment with Inkscape. But I didn't apply what I've learned on that version of the picture.
This picture was started on a few months ago and like the original put on hold so that I could work on other pieces. But this biggest hold up was the paws, joints., and the background. The original background was supposed to be reminiscent of the first piece but it caused too much slowdown in Inkscape. This background was from a different piece that I didn't really start because of a similar problem, too much slow down. It kinda works, but I really wanted the original.
The New Green Lion was made to be more curvier the the boxy original. I tried to apply everything I learned about mesh gradients. I'm still not 100 percent happy with this but I am more like 95 percent. I do plan on making more robot lion pictures hopefully working around the slowdowns.
