Being the ship’s psychiatrist put Rung in a rather interesting position of being best equipped to deal with alien life that the crew come into contact with. While initially not entirely sure what to make of a human – especially such a small one – Rung eventually found common ground with the organic. And Markus himself seemed to have taken a liking to the orange mech.
Rung did his best to accommodate his guest. Water, food, basic necessities… Markus even had a fairly cozy spot set up for him in the side room of Rung’s office. Rung spent countless eons of his career taking care of others, so looking after a tiny cooperative organic wasn’t particularly difficult for him. What surprised him however, was the fact that unlike many aboard the Lost Light, Markus would take the time to ask Rung about his well-being, chatting him up, cracking jokes that would lead into long discussions about the differences between human and cybertronian culture… Normally, Rung was a quiet observer, practically fading into the background so having someone actually be interested in him was… rare. And never once did Markus get the mech’s name wrong, which was noteworthy for all the wrong reasons.
As the two of them grew closer, they’d start spending more and more time together. Markus would end up riding on Rung’s shoulder to accompany the psychiatrist to other areas of the ship, and every now and again Rung would enlist the human’s assistance with his hobby – building model ships. Given the organic’s stature, the finer details were just easier for him to put together and the little guy was more than happy to help out.
The two of them may have been worlds apart in scale, biology and culture, but they still made pretty good friends.
