Squirrel!!!

I've seen pics of squirrels sticking out their tongues and I always find it way too adorable. If you look at the pic in a certain way, it does look like he's sticking out his tongue.

Well, he was a bit light on fur, he had some bare patches on his back but squirrels tails are pretty thin like that. I think the lighting also just showed it more prominently.

I was flashed by a squirrel once. I was waiting for my friend outside of his barracks, and this squirrel comes and stops, comes and stops, ya know? Stopping every so often to check things out I guess. But as he got closer, I could tell it was a he when he'd stand up, then as he passed me, I got flashed by his balls. :-P I thought it was really funny, if a bit awkward. But besides all that, I thought it was neat to see a squirrel up close. I've always wanted to pet one. They look so floofy cute. ^^

Hey, when ya got them, why not flaunt them. :P The ones in DC will let you get close. My friend actually found one that he could stroke his back (like a cat) while the squirrel munched on a nut. Near the Smithsonian gardens area (or a little garden area around there).

Actually this one got a little feisty and ended up giving me a small bite (he wanted more than just the one nut at a time thing), so yes I agree, being bitten sucks. But they are soo cute! Can't ever get mad at them.

When I was a kid my family took a vacation in DC, this was circa 1968. While we were out walking around my dad saw a squirrel and took out his 8mm movie camera and started shooting. The squirrel immediately run up to him and posed! Best holiday film clip ever!

Heh... you know, my predominant memory of visiting DC is the squirrels. When I made my first trip to the US back in 2003, I used Amtrak to give myself a little East Coast tour - New York, Philadelphia ( for Anthrocon ) and DC. And the main thing I recall about DC is the squirrels along The Mall. I remember one big guy scurrying over to a fallen styrofoam cup only a few inches from my foot ( not one I dropped! ).
Took a few photos myself, although none of them came out as good as your one. Interesting how his tail is almost transparent in the sunlight.

Yeah its pretty neat how the tail is just all poof! The squirrels in DC are very friendly though can be rather aggressive if you have something tasty on ya!

Actually if I remember right this guy was super aggressive and almost bit the end of my finger off when grabbing his prize. XD
