Well, I sat down to work today but, since I wasn't really home yesterday and was feeling kind of tired, I didn't want to start right away (since I'm inking, at the moment) and instead decided to warm up my hand with a few scrap drawings. Whenever I need to get in the drawing mood, I usually draw either Sky or Nightshade. I don't know why, but they always get my drawing mojo going when I'm in that mood
But, while warming up, I actually began to think about my fursona. I still haven't given her a look and, I realize it's because before, I was trying to design a feline version of myself but, I couldn't figure it out. So, as I was sketching, my fursona spoke to me and showed me what I was doing wrong.

Down there is a page from my sketchbook. There's Sky looking rather dubious, (I have no idea what he's thinking) but to the right of him is a sketch of my fursona and above them is a better sketch! Instead of making her exactly like me, I just took a few features. For example, I have pretty big eyes. And my hair is very curly when left undone! (and this way, I get to play with her hair as much as I want!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the figure...well, that's about right, too. I'm pretty slender with a modest bosom
And so, I think that this is about right! HOORAY! I has a fursona! ...uh...I guess I would just call her Kitt?

well i like modesty quite a lot, so its fully ok for me ^^ and i m quite sure that you are not the only one, who d like to play with her hair *chuckles* - even though i guess you re the only one whom she allows to play with it
Besides i appreciate it, if a person´s fursona shares some features with the human behind it. Some fursonas i ve encountered here are quite... lets say "abstract" and don t have anything in common with the person behind it. Don t get me wrong, i am not going to judge anyone for this - everyone creates his/her fursona as he/she sees fit. i however like the ones better that are close to the person behind it. you share a bunch of similarities with her, as is the same for Maroo and me (the person behind him).

Hmm? Well, honestly, I was seduced into choosing the black jaguar by this:

After seeing this, I just knew that this was one half of who my fursona had to be The other half is, of course, my beloved lion!!! Blend the two together and you get her Right now, though, it doesn't really seem to blend the lioness with the jaguar, only the jaguar is showing (except when you see her tail) and I want to see if I can blend them a little better. She's got gold for eyeshadow, hinting of her lioness heritage, but it's not enough. I want to play around and see what else I can do

Yeah, I started to add highlights (like the marks over her eyes upon her eyelids) but spots won't show up with her dark coat. It's not as dark as it could be if she were entirely panther, the lion in her warms it up and lightens it up just a bit, but still, she's a bit dark to really try for spots. With her hair, I tried going a different route with the color, but it just didn't look right I may make it the same color as her coat to see how that works, but, I'm not sure, I'll have to see it to know if I like it or not. I did give her markings on her chest and abdomen ...hmm...actually, I could put spots in that area, but even so, that would just reinforce her already apparent panther heritage but still wouldn't really show her lion's blood. I know she's going to have the tuft of hair at the end of her tail, a trait iconic to lions and I think I will give her hands and feet pale marks, too.

Thank ya! Yeah, her colors seem to be dominated by her panther half. I just add touches of gold here and there, like on her eyelids...although I wonder if it would look right on her belly, too *ponders* And, I'll add marks on her hands and feet...and of course her tail will have the icon lion's tuft at the end
Thank you, Darlin'!! It's a first "almost there" drawing of her. The body and the hair are correct, but the color and markings aren't on the level, so to speak I was in a drawing rut today and tried to draw a little more *shakes fist at M.I.A. muse* and I think I know what I need to do to get her on the right track
