That's my point. The goddess's lawyer is wrong. There do exist laws against disfiguring people. If the goddess transformed every human being on Earth into a fox girl, that definitely would fall under the jurisdiction of US Law.

IF! And IF what she does impacts US law (IF!). A case, IF it happens would be limited to impact to the US. Someone from, say, Japan, can't use American laws to sue for that since US law has no impact on them or what happened since it happened outside the US. Which is 95.75% of the world not covered by those laws.

Even then, there is bits in the law that protect "act of God" as a defence. See the insurance industry and their use of the term to not pay for coverage at times. And yes, since she is an actual God, I can't see how the term couldn't be applied to an actual one walking the streets when used to a general term to mean things that happen as they have been used in courts of law.

Plus, when did she turn everyone into a "fox girl"? She simply did half the world, then changed it to half of that again (and was largely limited with what she did to give people a taste).

Also, in case you may have missed it. This isn't in our world. So laws that impact things may not be the case. This is a biggest point because how many years has Celia (or the other mad scientists) been active with tf stuff and no one has gone after them like that?

In law, "Act of God" does not literally mean an act by a deity and would not protect a physical avatar of a deity from liability.

You guys are arguing cartoonish logic about this, and whether you think that “Actof God” is literal or not, it still needs to be argued in court because that would go into an area that has never been explored before; In reality there has never been a literal God acting to cause these events.

Either way she could use it as her defense even if it’s not guaranteed, because the judge would have to establish new law about whether God can actually be allowed to do that.

In any case, you are arguing law for a universe where people can accidentally get shipped tf bombs and missiles. There’s no need to be so focused on real life law.
