Out of your Element, Out of your Control

A chance encounter between a certain Black Bear and a certain Bipedal Blue Canis was in many respects upset by the downpour of the third chance encounter with a certain PINK Bipedal Fox.
The conversation that followed at the venue of choice was concerning Bottom Raung and the much bigger Dimensional Outer region known as Jacob's Ladder. However, Unbenknownst to the two of them, Resplendence fancied them from afar and, entertaining a few delusional fantasies about having them both sexually, was immediately distracted by some other faceless buff paragon of masculinity headed towards the Bathroom.
Dence, for whatever reason is only known by the Higher Planes, indulged in the strange habit of being forcibly bound in a bathroom stall and prostrating himself so that any schmuck can happen upon him and take advantage of his exposed anal tract. The same was true now. Sure enough, Bluewolf and Rob Alto happen upon Dence (safe to say that neither had any inclination towards taking advantage of another person sexually), but then something equally horrifying happened: all 3 individuals were sucked away to another world.
One of the dimensional planes of Jacob's Ladder, above Bottom Raung.
Bluewolf heard the rumors.
Each step on the ladder was reminiscent to a dungeon straight out of Dark Souls, littered with Monsters, forgotten civilizations, ancient temples, strange architecture, and.... did I forget to mention Monsters, like, the KIND THAT KILL YOU MERCILESSLY?
Bluewolf immediately becomes acclimated to this new harsh environment, a sick madness hanging about the place as thick and deadly as the magma beneath the walkway. Monsters are coming. The only way to really survive long enough to escape this disturbed fantasy-scape is to fight and kill. Bluewolf resigns himself to trusting the words of Rob Alto, who has been to this nightmarish place before. While Rob attained magic and uses a crossbow he stole from a thief, Bluewolf uses a simple spear he finds while in that place.
Poor Resplendence was, meanwhile, in a state of panic, completely out of his element, feeling wretched, and, unlike Bluewolf, in no shape to actually pick up his own weight and kill the monsters near and far-off in order to survive and find away back to the Regular World. Then again, he is a Mathematician or something, so fighting is really NOT his thing. Math and Sex, but never violence or survival.
Most people, when they encounter something that cannot be rationally explained, freak out and instinctively retreat into themselves. Some are locked into that mindset, but this isn't necessarily bad.
A normal person usually avoids danger.
Others are not so normal that they can safely assume that danger is something that can be avoided.
A split decision needs to be made. A split decision makes all the difference.
When something implausible happens in your life, you adapt, and roll with the circumstances.
Because controlling the outcome is the only real choice.
Especially when it's out of your element, and out of your control.
