Jaltus are an open species created by me!
There aren’t any legendary or rare traits because I want them to all be equally accessible and free to make!
Jaltus are a species of Eastern Dragon known for their slim bodies and canine traits, who follow most norms of dragon society. They are very intelligent and social creatures, and can climb very well.
Gods:
-Vice, who is ironically named, is a kind and giving god, who creates new life for Jaltus. He is commonly given offerings, although no prominent religions exist within Jaltu culture.
-Caz, a demon god who is imprisoned in a mountain, who long ago destroyed cities commonly, and was a menace to Jaltu-kind. Hopefully such a force will never return.
There are some small rules to keep in mind so please consider these before you make one:
- Jaltus do not have horns. They have adapted to live without them, with hierarchical fights consisting of talon to talon combat.
- Jaltus cannot have wings. They are flightless and could not be able to fly in theory due to their weight and manes
- Jaltus cannot have beaks or large patches of scales, although scale blight occasionally occurs to some individuals.
- Jaltus CAN NOT be sexualized or sexually reproduce. They reproduce through magic like some other species, and each individual is created by the god of Jaltus, who’s name is Vice.
Traits:
[These are some recommendations/guidelines for making a Jaltu]
- Overall, Jaltus have slim bodies with long tails, which feature whip like ends. Their ears are large and lie horizontally on their heads. They exhibit canine like mounts and snouts, with dragon like skeletons, eyes, noses, and tongues.
- They frequently have long manes, although some can be short and isolated to their head.
- They usually have tufts of fur or feathers on their tail tips and ears
- Jaltus manes are very important to them and are usually made of long hair or fur, although rarely some have feathers.
- Usually a Jaltu’s mane has one color with a darker secondary color pattern within it.
- Most Jaltus have a large design on their tail tip in the secondary color of their mane.
- Jaltus can have canine or dragon-like eyes, and they can vary in color and size.
- Jaltus can have canine or dragon like feet and paw pads, so feel free to experiment.
- Jaltus are colored in colorful fur, and can have basically any color of fur as long as it blends well with their mane.
- All Jaltus have a tradeoff of traits, some may be strong but small, or artistic and smart but fragile.
- Jaltus in general are very smart, social, and artistic, and have very close knit communities.
- Jaltus have very close families and mate for life.
Environment/Habitat
- Jaltus live in dense forests or wide plains, usually in warm areas with large water sources such as lakes or rivers.
- Jaltus HAVE to have spots with sun for them to bask, or else they will get very sick.
- Most live in treehouses made of bamboo and leaves, to connect with their natural roots and cut down on nature destruction.
- All Jaltu have very close connections with nature and are very protective of all life, especially their habitat.
Scaleblight:
Scaleblight is a somewhat uncommon disease that Jaltus can get, where patches of fur are replaced with hard scale. It is non lethal, however in some bad cases these patches can cover most of a Jaltu’s skin. There is no known treatment but most individuals are very kind and helpful towards those afflicted. Symptoms include loss of fur, scale growth, fevers, and in extreme cases loss of mobility.

Society/Royalty:
The Jaltu population is so vast because of the size of their planet, so their are thousands of empires and individual societies! Jaltu queens and kings are very common, with queens taking the conventional dragon leadership. You can crest royal Jaltus, as long as they are not gods of the world.
