Honestly, I was very unsatisfied with the 3rd draft I had posted. The lighting experiment I had done was a total failure and the fur was way too overdone. I toned it back and added the transient wings that The AAA said his character had. The wings were just a fractal I made in apophysis then mirrored with gimp before slapping them on to rectangular polygons and adding them to the scene. The fractal literally took less time to set up than to render, so it was not really much effort on my part to make those wings. Getting lightwave to behave on the other hand... that was a pain in the ass. It's like Lightwave took one step forward and two steps back with this version. Sadly, using the older versions for simple stuff is not an option as I had to trade in the old parallel port hardware key for a USB one, and the older versions of lightwave do not recognize the USB hardware key. Oh well.
