A pair of Ascendancy soldiers scouting out a Union position on Sathanas Prime during their campaign to push the Union off and free the indigenous inhabitants, just as they did themselves with Strax, Hellion V, and Raven II at the point in the timeline this took place.
The Sathanas Campaign proved to be the largest, and longest, campaign for the Ascendancy during its 'expansionist' period. The planet was the main source of slave labor for the Union due to the dragon inhabitants (Sathanas is generally where the scalies in SA space come from, dragons, dinosaurs, etc) so they were not willing to let it go easily.
A lot of lessons were learned on the battlefields of Sathanas, a lot of which the Ascendancy still uses today.

Finally finished this after a toying with it for a couple months on and off on the weekends, quite proud with how it came out c:
I need to do more serious work set in my 'verse like this...
