but we didn't see what happened when they hit bottom. it sort of just faded out

So we go by what happened before that: The doctor and the human both fell, the former coming in after the later. We can assume that the doc fell on the human and merged with him from that.

As for Oreo's knowledge of how black latex taste, either the doc ate some or it's something white latex instinctively know.

i just noticed this. there is a Dark Latex standing behind a White Latex in the third panel

So dark latex...tastes rubbery. Who woulda thought? XD

It's possible that Oreo has both the human and the doctor's memories in him.

So realistically, what's happening here is that when the doctor tried to assimilate him, part of the doctor's own memories, stored in the light latex that was trying to transfur him, got merged into his head but did not directly take over because the dark latex that came from goobrain along with the residual imprint from it is preventing that overwrite. This conflict in turn also allows for the human aspect of Oreo to be involved in the mix and as a result, 'Oreo' has memories of things he should not have, down to having passed down memories from outside sources that are not him.

This is kind of why any person who is transfurred suddenly seems to forget themselves, because their own memories are being overwhelmed and blended with the residual memories of the latex that is transfurring them.

That's my theory, anyways.
