As the God's fled through the Celestial Gate, they dropped tools and weapons in panic. These sacred items would become the saving grace for the mortals to combat the Encroaching Embrace. Whether humanity was doomed because of the departure of Gods or the surge of the Underworld, survival was key. The mortals took arms with these scared items and forged civilizations. But as the years went on, the divinity soon began to fade and dependence became integrated in the prosperity of humanity. Neighbors soon became rivals, rivers soon parted nations, and war soon followed. All the sacred items were surely found and used, but one brave and cunning hybrid found a solution. In one last effort, he stole the remaining items to journey to the Celestial Gate. A cloud to ride, a staff to vault over the gate, and a standard to hold the scared items he found. As he approached the gate, it suddenly opened just enough for him to slip inside. The torrent of divine energy recharged him items and brought salvation to the world below. Humanity began their swarm to the heavens. In the midst of the confusion the hybrid made quick work stealing as many items from the Gods a possible. Upon his escape, he was caught by the Gatekeeper. The hybrid begged for his freedom as he was merely trying to return the items but needed a few to return home. The Gatekeeper could not properly judge this mortal for he was still alive. In return for his freedom, the hybrid was tasked to retrieve one item every year. Quickly realizing his freedom was soon to fade, he proposed one day of rest in Heaven. The Gatekeeper agreed. For every item he returned, he would steal one on his day of rest. And thus, Heaven's Trickster was born.
