In the world of Nanyg there is a strange species that are simply known as Doppelgangers, these are slightly humanoid amorphous creatures capable of changing their shape take to the form of other people. It is believed this species has been present since the time of the Demon Lords, way before their defeat and the Ascension of the Gods.
The reason they do this is due to this ancient species being very envious and much preferring to having the body, and at times lives of others, instead of their own. Doppelgangers are also territorial becoming aggressive if they recognise another Doppelganger taking the shape of their current target. Finally, Doppelgangers despite being masters of disguise, acting and shapeshifting quite often make mistakes, you can recognise a Doppelganger as they will forget to hide a specific detail of their form, like eyes, teeth or something else.
Clay is a somewhat special Doppelganger, he enjoys taking the form of others for fun, particularly to play pranks and spread confusion. Due to this many believe him to be a worshipper of Havok, the God of Chaos and Mischief.
Little is known about his true self as he takes shapes of several different people throughout the day, going as far as simply making a disguise on the spot to slip through crowds. He can often be recognised, while in disguise, by having sharp teeth or blackened eyes.
Some of his escapades that are of note are amongst the time in which he was able to not only befriend but become the date of Harbinger, the violent dragonborn who had become adopted by Vitamors, God of Life and Death. A woman often known for her lack of comprehension for affection and love, but somehow Clay was able to teach her. Another was when he was able to replicate the voice of the Goddess Sindell and take the form of her adviser, Konstantine, to trick the Demigod Zsassin, this particular event would be of not due to the Goddess Sindell herself having held a deep grudge over her exile to the mortal realms, allowing Konstantine to identify her descent in to a behaviour similar to the Demon Lords and prevent t.
All in all Clay rarely takes the spot light of anything, but whenever there's a sudden change, you can expect to identify a melting grin with a deep mischievous chuckle behind.

Oh well isn't he just adorable? Better be careful shapeshifter... You never know who or what may be there. Maybe to hunt you? To trap you? To seal your power to change shape.
Many may hunt your kind for fear of their abilities, their power. Or even to take them for themselves.
People can be cruel... Just as they fear the dark and the unknown, as do they fear what they do not understand. Same may be accepting and even kind, but any would be foolish to expect it from all of them. So be wary and be careful. For you know not the true face they hide behind closed doors.
