Overall, I believe the big-brother-little-sister relationship could have used a lot more development. In my own work, the big brother is a crucial part of the series. He is the main one who teaches his sister about friendship!

Both Shining Armor and Cadance could have used a lot more opportunity to save the day (rather than having to be rescued themselves).

I agree, especially in instances when their child was threatened. Sadly, the primary purpose of the guard in that show was to "Die in place" as we called in in the army... =^^;

In my work, I give the big brother (and his wife) a much bigger role. In fact, the big brother is one of the central characters!
