I really like this one for several reasons. There's not enough variety in body shape in art in the fandom- Not on a serious, non-objectified level. Practically all of it is the bizarre "Jessica Rabbit" hourglass figure "hot sexy female". It's generic, boring, cartoonish and insulting, from a certain perspective. What art doesn't feature that faffery is only a different build as an object of fetishization, occasionally masquerading itself as "empowerment". This is neither- this is badass, THIS is empowerment. This image doesn't have to trade it's sexual or bodily independence for the illusion of respect. None of that self-deceptive twaddle for children "I'm so tough and detached and don't care what anybody thinks- which is why I post dozens of porn images, desperately cloying for attention and affirmation"
This gal states it up front. Boom.
On a side note- I'd swear this image has been altered from a previous posting. I don't recall it originally having the wings...

I agree wholeheartedly! It gets very frustrating seeing so many generically "sexy" designs, and anything deviating from that being fetishized. If that's what somebody likes, alright, you do you i suppose, but it's not for me. It's so generic, and bland and you're right it definitely feels insulting from certain perspectives. Especially as a fat person, seeing so much art of fat characters specifically being a fetish thing is really uncomfortable and degrading.
I get so tired of it honestly. Always reducing folks to how visually appealing they are and how well looking at them gets one's rocks off is a very narrow minded two dimensional way of approaching things and I'm just not here for it, even if it is just a fictional character.
I want to celebrate that people have natural variety in shape and size without it being inherently ABOUT sex appeal or fetish.
Sure, anybody can be sexy at any shape or size!- but that's not going to be the focal point of the piece, you know? there's more to people than that and it should not be the reigning factor on whether one deserves respect or not anyways.
As you said, "this image doesn't have to trade it's sexual or bodily independence for the illusion of respect," and that is exactly what i'm going for!
I wonder why you remember it not having wings before though... perhaps i showed you a screenshot of the wip of it before i added them? but they have been there since i posted it!
