This is Rank 2 of Braveheart's powers, now he is always in a thin layer of Soul Energy that acts like a super condensed, form fitting armor. He is also capable of creating more detailed constructs and summon up more energy in general. For example the wing set in the corner is actually capable of high speed flight and mobility for combat in the air.

It's like he's learning how to use it more wisely, not just wasting energy making big sheilds and sets of armor, instead making a thin, but super tough shell all around him. And he learning how to make more detailed stuff, instead of just making a dull sword. His wings are designed to suck air in, then force it out behind or around him, thus, making him capable of flight. This method of condensing small amounts of energy, not only lets him hit harder, but last in a fight longer since he's not using nearly as much energy as before.
