The Ish are a species of humanoid fish people from a project Im working on currently titled The Ascarian Expedition. [Ish was their WIP name and its kinda stuck]

They are mostly aquatic, so water is required to breathe. Suits are required for them to explore the surface of their world and beyond.

The Ish first constructed their rudimentary suits so that they could explore the surface of their planet, and allowed them access to construction abilities unavailable to them under water.

Before they were able to use dry land, their world was powered using steam from the many volcanoes and geothermal vents that litter the sea floor across their planet.
