I have always loved the Darkstalkers. Unlike other fans, my liking of it originally came from that Darkstalkers animated cartoon that has easily been made fun of over the years. Sure, not every episode was a winner, but not all of them were awful.

The first one I ever saw was "The Game", which is a good one to start out with because it had most of the main characters in it. I knew nothing of the Darkstalkers before then. I mostly liked the fact that it had a horror/monster vibe to it in a time full of nothing else but shows about super heroes and "Just Say No!" campaigns everywhere. My favorite monster has always been a Werewolf, and this one even had the same name as me, so I took a quick liking to Talbain.

Years later I finally played the Playstation port of the game, and I loved it. That was around 2003, and as fate would have it, that very same year I ran into a very friendly cosplayer at the very first con I ever went to....she wore a very...very accurate Felicia costume. I certainly wasn't expecting her to put her furry paws around me when she posed for a picture with me, but she did, and Felicia has been my favorite animated female ever since.

It was great when XBOX released the Darkstalkers Resurrection collection, but I would give my current three arcade cabinets for just one working Darkstalkers arcade cabinet.

And those lousy arcade 0up walmart cabinets made out of tissue paper don't count.
