Anyone remember this show? This is Jodie, Sam Crenshaw, Muffy Mouse and Jeff from the 1980's Canadian children's TV Show, Today's Special. I really miss this show! I asked TV Ontario if they would release this on DVD and they said the rights to their older shows have expired, so this is never coming to DVD. And there are only a few episodes on You Tube.

Anyway, Sam was the hardest character to draw. Because he's a puppet, you only saw him from the waist up so I had to guess what his pants and shoes looked like. Jodie was easy since she wears pink and red in most episodes. There are too many white heroines so it's nice to have an African American heroine, (well, more like African Canadian). Muffy ended up being faced forward in this pic and I love how cute she is and she talks in rhyme. Like I said, so many mascots that are cats and dogs and boys so why not a girl mouse? And finally, Jeff the mannequin who comes to life when wearing a magic hat and loves to dance. I drew him last 'cause he's my favorite and I'm planning to draw more of him. I feel sad for Jeff 'cause he can't leave the store unless he has special magic.

Anyway, I'm expressing my feelings for this show through fan art. I'm planning to draw more of these characters to spread the show around.
