It was a very normal day in Sapphire Village. The sun was shining, and the villagers were going about their days. It didn't seem anything out of the ordinary was going to happen, until a new pair made their way into the sleepy village. A Luxray, accompanied by a small Shinx made their way through the town, taking in the sights. Eventually, the pair came upon the school, where the young Pokemon of the village learned various skills and trained in safety to be stronger. The Luxray parted with her daughter and strolled off in search of the village's Mayor, while the young Shinx was left to get acquainted with the other youthful Pokemon. Her energetic personality caught the gaze of a certain Fennekin, who immediately made it her goal to become friends with this new girl.

The day passed, and everyone went their separate ways for the day, but the Shinx was left alone for a time, still waiting for her mother to return. In the meantime, the Fennekin had bolted off toward home, needing a special something before she confronted the Feline Pokemon. When she returned, she found the other girl standing by the river that ran through the center of the village.

"Hey there!" The Fennekin called out, getting the Shinx's attention. "My name's Blair! What's yours?" The other Girl smiled eagerly at the Fennekin's forward introduction. "I'm Corrine!" She responded simply, while Blair wagged her tail. Without another word, she offered a bandanna that matched the one she wore to Corrine, who's eyes lit up as she looked over it. "Wanna join my team, Corrine?" Without hesitating, she accepted the the gift. "YES! That sounds awesome!"
