Well, no one even venture to guess what my secret project was about. It is googles! Hence the title.
Still very much a work in progress, I test fitted it to my head, which itself s going through a bout of cosmetic surgery as I replacing the crappy foam teeth with some much better 3D printed ones. I already ripped out the foamies and narrowed the too wide lower jaws but more on that later.
Right not let's go back to the googles. I modeled and printed them as I stated in my previous posts. I don't have any black filament so I sprayed painted it matt black after applying a few coats of primer. I went with the silver colored rings on this one to provide some contrast but I already made some changes in the design and printed a new set that I'll show next

Thanks, I am going more for that industrial, post-apocalyptic look to go with next year' ACFI. I have a newer shield design that I plan on painting brown and switch over to the glossy black trim rings.
I could go with a more steampunk direction simply switching to a brass finish on the metal rings. There are screwed in place so an easy change out. I have plenty of scrap rings to use. Hell, I could just print more shields.
I also have plans of inserting LED lights inside, just under the rings. The clear plastic of the lens extend all the way out and a small sliver of it is exposed. I have extra holes for the LEDs to shine through and hopefully shine out the sides. But that is an addition for the future.
