i feel like you would have a grand time on one of the youtube channels that i watch called Rslash, someone who basicly reads out situations like you have, as im sure you have quite a few good stories to tell

they have a reddit forum that you can post your stories on. they themselves read out the stories so you dont have to worry about it (would only use your user name)

Because, of course, they need to see you for reasons!

When I worked on a platform like yours, I once asked a customer for their customer number then heard a series of beeps... They were pressing the buttons on their phone instead of telling me the number...

I also had several flat out refuse to give me any sort of ID, be it their names or numbers or whatever, stating that all the info was displayed on my phone or on my computer, which it wasn't, else I wouldn't be asking for it...

so far nobody did that to me here, but oh gosh i remember those days

I don't mind giving details over the phone, but what really annoys me is when a bot takes your name, customer number, blood type and last time... and then the first thing the service person wants is the same info again. (Talk about crap software)

I fully agree that this is annoying as hell. Though, I know for a fact that, when I was working on phone, we didn't have that kind of bot, it only asked for zipcode so we would know where the customer was and what store was nearest to him. Also, I had that happen IRL, at the phone shop, face to face, with someone refusing to give me anything, phone number or name, just telling me to look him up on the computer because everything is in there. Obviously, I'm a psychic or the computer can identify customers just by them standing nearby, somehow...

I can see how that would go...

User: "You see the issue? Right there"
Me: "I assume you are pointing at your screen? With your finger?"
User: "Yes... here"
Me: "You aware this is a phone call?"
User: "Oh.."
