Here we have Daren wielding his nodachi sword, which is a fusion of his katanas Géar and Kakaru thanks to having the same blade 'heart' when they got reforged. It is his most potent blade outside of his Spiorad, but also his most dangerous to even hold.

To explain it in short, Géar can cut anything right down to the molecular level and can even slice through words. Kakaru can generate shields against ranged attacks and can also absorb magic from the wielder's opponents in a way that left no physical mark. Their main drawback is that they required a massive amount of magical power and control to use their abilities, especially Kakaru. At best-case scenarios, the blades became too heavy to hold, but, in worse-case situations, they kill their wielders. Fused like this, while adding in firing energy blast from the sword, also quadruples the magic drained from the wielder with only delicate control over their magic minimalizing it.

In short, if Daren wields this nodachi blade, then he's pulling out a final attempt at ending the fight one way or another.
