Liberty Eight - By DragonNetStorm
DragonNetStorm created this as his top tier Patreon reward sketch. Join his patreon today (link below).*coff* welll... it appears i'm jumping on the bandwagon of the people with anthropomorphic vehicles and stuff... i have not posted this anywhere, but i thought i might as well ask here for opinions.
The entire thing was created in half response to
dzemon who did this sketch here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34458536/ of a character that is still preeeeetty early in development. 😂🤣😂🤣While it was glorious... scouring his gallery i could not help but notice this character here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34133768/
I had been meaning for a while to get myself some of those "Xmorph" characters (Tankmorph?) They are as silly as they can get.
That tank looked somewhat similar to a specific tank i wanted to model my "tankmorph" (?) (not sure if i'm using the correct term). The Liberty Mark 8.
I like taking the most silly/idiotic of concepts and try and weave them into an actually reasonable story.
And so Liberty Eight was born.
Just a girl living in Baltimore, born after nobody needed her anymore, and trying to adapt to the changes that the roaring 20s created (more story pending).
I... honestly have zero clue on the living machine/Xmorph community, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Obviously based on the International Liberty Mark 8 tank built by Rock Island Arsenal and the North British Locomotive Company.
It was ultra-cutting edge (for 1918), featuring an electrical internal communication system and an engine that had its own compartment and was not crapping exhaust all over the pilots and gunners. Imagine that! Not getting Carbon Monoxide poisoning while driving a tank in 1918, truly a wonder of technology...
...that was never used, the war ended before it could get shipped overseas.
The original Liberty Mark 8 shipment basically still rots in some warehouse in Baltimore (i think) where it was supposed to get shipped to the war.
They made a total of 100 of them never saw a single battle.
It was a lightweight (only 2 metric tons) infantry support tank.
So... ultra-slow (top speed was that of a slowly walking human), hard to stop heavy duty engine, not really that heavy of an armor (but could "wear" ablative armor on the spot to be re-applied when worn out), and tons and tons of turrets and machineguns.
Yep. Machineguns (okay, and some mortars). No cannons. This was infantry support, not an attack tank.

Maybe she can be part of a alternative world war 1, and she becomes like a giant mechanical equivalent to captain America or something. She could be accompanied by and infantry squad (she treats them like her children) which deal with other soldiers trying to shoot her. Since she's giant, central power soldiers freak out and cower at the sight of her!
I'm sorry, Fallout only has 2 games.
In those 2 games there is no such thing as a Liberty Prime.
At most she looks like Behemoth https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Behemoth_(robot) but even then that's just a game born by people who sought money, not the actual only 2 games in the franchise.
I've vaguely enjoyed that fan-made 3d rendition, what was it called... New Vegas... yes... but it was still obviously just a fanmade game, lots of interesting ideas and really a lot of heart behind it, but still wild inaccuracies, and some stuff was just plain weird.
Yep. Of the 2 games that were ever made there was nothing called "Liberty Prime".
Also: Fallout is in a post-apocalypse of post 1960
Liberty Eight is from WWI. I still have zero idea where to set her story... but it will not be a post-apocalypse.
