Carmelita secures Sly between her fingers with a little help from her divine abilities to essentially magnetise him to her. She retrieves him from that moment in time, giving him a soft kiss to show much she’s missed him. Alas, he cannot stay with her. This realm was not his home, nor was it right of her to make it his home. So, with his clothing returned to his trademark blue and yellow, she hovers him over the future scene. That moment where Carmelita laments the lack of evidence in her search.

And the Goddess drops him in, forwarding him through centuries of time to the point where he simply falls into Carmelita’s lap. Well, her desk at least, causing quite the upset.
