"I'm... I'm a Riolu!"

"Yup! And I'd say you look better this way!" The Mew said, before doing another excited spin.

"Well, I wouldn't know about that," said Pikachu, "but it sure is gonna be nice to finally really talk with you, Ash."

"Pikachu! I can understand you!"

"Yup! You're a pokemon now-- with all the benefits and powers that includes."

"This is amazing!" Ash's hat, now too big for his head, fell down over his eyes. He pushed it up with a paw, before laughing. "Looks like I've got a lot to get used to!"

Mew nodded. "You've got lots of adventures ahead of you guys, that's for sure. I gotta go now, but I think I'll be seeing you again soon enough. For now, why don't you get settled in at the Expedition Society behind you? There's a couple of former humans hanging out there who could help show Ash the ropes."

"Expedition Society, huh? Sounds exciting. You ready to go, Pikachu?" Ash said, looking over at his partner.

"You better believe it!" The electric mouse stuck a heroic pose.

Ash smiled and followed suit. "Yeah!" He turned to the mythical pokemon floating away. "Thanks for everything, Mew!"

He waved. "No problem! Have fun, you two!"

And so began the mysterious adventures of Ash and Pikachu at the Expedition Society.
