Ash was no stranger to odd occurrences or meeting mythicals, but it was still a surprise to find a shiny Mew in Viridian Forest. It seemed to have something important to share with him-- or maybe it just wanted to play? Either way, Ash knew that following that Mew would lead to something interesting as it always did. And hey, Pikachu seemed to approve so that's definitely a good sign, right?
Eventually, after a few minutes of going deeper and deeper into the forest, the little blue pokemon stopped in front of a glowing portal, and pointed excitedly.
"Mew! Mew-mew myuuu~!"
"Pika? Pikapi pi!"
Ash let the two pokemon talk to each other as he assessed the situation. He figured the Mew wanted him to go through the portal, but he had no idea where it would lead, or what was happening on the other side. Maybe this Mew needed help with something? He seemed a bit too playful to need help, though that's just how Mews are, as he had found out through prior experience.
Ash turned to his partner. "What do you think, buddy?"
Pikachu smiled, before jumping off Ash's shoulder and bounding over to the portal. He turned around and beckoned his trainer and best friend to follow. The Mew was bouncing up and down excitedly in the air, eagerly awaiting Ash's response.
"Hah, okay then. Let's go!"
