Yes, it did; a friend of mine was following some of this. I haven't been following along with the latest on that, but I know when I first heard about it there was some controversy going on because it sounded like a rogue group of employees had made this public early, running a test server with the original database, which of course raises all sorts of interesting issues on ownership as that contained all the earlier players' characters as well.

Everything may have been sorted out by now, I don't know. I wasn't on the original City of Heroes, and am kind of not wanting to get into yet another game right now.

I do reccomend City over champions, if for any reason there's a better narrative and story. I did Champions for a longwhile after the original shut down of COH and it...just felt lacking in story/characterization

Granted, I was also into the Champions tabletop RPG for years before the video game came out, so I already had an 'in' there.
