They sound near-impossible to kill. No wonder the best course of action is to evacuate. I wonder how an absolutely stone-deaf warrior would fare against one of these?

Probably depends on how lucky the warrior is. XD

And yea this is one of the tougher creatures I've created, though thankfully they tend to have relatively low population numbers which helps keep them from being overwhelming.

For the love of all that is sweet and chocolatey, never put these in an environment where they don't belong. I'm thinking these would be hell as an invasive species!

And I'm now imagining a culture in which deaf people are honoured as potential protectors against these creatures, and most of the people who get an education are taught sign language to at least a workable degree in an act of implicit support to help their deaf feel included in society and to be able to more easily invest in them as saviours against the false hydra. But that's just me!

Oh yea it would be catastrophic if any wound up somewhere that isn't equipped to deal with them.

And while deafness would make one immune to the hypnotic version of its sound waves, the ones that are sheer force would still cause damage unless they had a way to deal with that.

Although that actually gives me an idea...
