When I was a kid I remember on several occasions running and jumping into what seemed like gigantic piles of leaves. So I could CMC do the same thing. Although Sweetie Belle seems to realize that going first might not have been the best idea.

Friends had a maple tree stump near the roads edge, it was about two feet high and three feet across. The reason it was taken down was it was rotting from the inside out. What Al did was rake all the leaves around and over the stump. Al's thinking was compost the leaves around the stump, the plan was to make a flower bed around.
Al hadn't got the netting up around the pile before calling it a day. In the middle of the night some guy hit the "pile" leaves waking everyone up. The road was posted 35 mph... the State Patrol said the guy was doing far more than 35.
The guys truck may have been a nice looking truck before... The thing that save the guys in the truck from getting badly hurt was it was a jacked up 4x4. The impact with the stump ripped most of the drivetrain from under the truck. It was a mess the body was 20 paces past the stump next to his front porch, there was a trail of parts back to the stump.
The kicker the guy's Insurance Company tried to go after Al for the damages. That didn't get very far.

Heh, while out in the country we had the asshole teens swatting mailboxes with bats and other sticks - or just rammed if there wasn't a curb/tree in the way.
After the third crushed mailbox, one house had a railroad 'rail' hammered into the ground with the box to the far side.
The local high school football hero never played another game after swinging a four by four at a mailbox that 'railed' him right back.
And yeah, the parents tried to sue, judge laughed them out of court ...

That was the thing for many years. I made a mail box stand and guard for a friend. The post was a scrap chunk of 6x6 3/8 wall steel tube I filled with concrete. The mounting plate was 3/4 plate with an end plates and steel roof to guard the box from the "snow" plow. The end plates were 3/4 plate, with a 3/4 inch tall triangles going up the sides for decorative trim.
The post was set 5 feet into the ground with a "small" concrete slab around it to keep the weeds at bay around the post.
When it was done it looked so cute it was painted white with a black roof. It looked a lot like the machinery shed behind the home. The mail carrier loved it, it was cute and there was room to put package next to the mail box propper.
About a month later some jock in a open car or pickup made the mistake of bashing the mailbox.. As near as Pete and Helen could figure out is the batter hit the box thinking it was wood, the triangles grabbed the batt and the cars momentum pulled tthe person out of the car or pickup.
What Pete and Helen heard was the thud of the box being hit, the screech of tires, a short pause, then doors being opened and then slammed shut. As Pete turned on the porch light that also turned on the driveway lights said car or pickup took off like a shot.
The last time I was by their place it was still there painted to match the new owners paint scheme. The machinery shed was gone, it had been replaced by a rather large pole building. I almost stopped in to ask how my 35ish year old artwork was holding up.
