So, after almost 14 and a half years of being together,
Hauke and I are about to make it official. We are getting married.
This stems from the start of this last year, as Hauke's and my schedules were opposite of each other, and we didn't get to see much of each other at all in 2019. I realized, by years end, I was becoming very lonely and depressed. So, one night, I just asked him "What happened to what we used to be? We used to go out to eat at least once every week. We had movie nights with friends every Thursday. I had my drawing friends over every Sunday. Where did that all go? What's happened to us".
We realized we had stopped communicating with each other. So, we opened up to each other again, talked about the past, talked about the future, for us. Then, it just kind of popped out.
Hauke asked, "Well, would you want to marry me?"
And I said "Yes. Very much so!"
And that was that. We told our folks, and a few friends got prior notice. We announced it to our friends here, during our Thanksgiving toast. We are hoping sometime in December to head down to the courthouse and become, legally, a couple.
So, what started out as a not so great year for me is ending up as maybe one of the better years. Here's hoping 2020 will be an even better year for the two of us, as one.

Congratulations and I wish you and hauke all the best. I also got married to my husband, just last year, after 13 years and it only gets better for us old folks. Also It may sound strange but I feel an odd connection with your art and my life with my now husband. I started watching your art work around the same time I met my now husband, bruce's character temperament is my husband embodied and just when he started feeling older Bruce did the same. So good news, my grumpy flirty otter has made me the happiest bear alive and I am sure you will do the the same for your basilisk.
