The rest is an obvious homage to Evangelion. At the time of drawing and posting this on Patreon I hadn't yet heard the VSI/Netflix redub. But now I have and... well... ... lets just say this page is more of a shout out to the original ADV interpretation of episode 23 涙 Tears. Though to the redub's credit, Cali-based new Asuka was brilliant from the start (is it me or was she imitating her predecessor a lot?) and new Shinji eventually grew on me.

That aside, sorry for ending this arc on a downer. This comic will continue and I'll make that more obvious on the next page.
