GrnDragon found this at MFM: the mysterious warm spot.
It comes out of the wall by the elevators, runs to the hall where the rooms are, then turns and goes down one hallway (towards the critter cafe). It doesn't line up with any significant traffic. It only really goes down one of the two halls.
Take the temperature values with a grain of salt... my camera is only vaguely calibrated.

The most popular theory is that its the main power lines into the building, buried under the cement slab. If it were drain plumbing, I'd expect it to be more symetrical, instead of only going down one hall. Ventilation would be easier in the ceiling, but maybe there is a basement they don't tell us about.
Never saw it before, but I can't help but notice the border around each image - is the visible smaller than the thermal photo?
While I'm at it, is that thing capable of taking an image that's thermal only? (Without covering the other lens or similar, anyway.) I do recall that it is The World's Cheesiest Thermal Camera.

Yes, the border is because the visible camera's field of view is smaller than the IR camera's. It can do IR only, as well as visible only. I should fortify its firmware to just save multiple files so one can do whatever in post...
It is in fact the world's cheesiest thermal camera. But it has sourcecode (which I de-arduinoed) and schematics, so its still better. https://github.com/maxritter/DIY-Thermocam

Is the visible sensor in color or black and white?
Also, do you usually fill out the survey MFM typically sends out after the con? I haven't got it yet and I'm wondering if my mailserver lost it/didn't get it somehow or if they forgot to send one out. I wouldn't think they'd forget to do that though.
edit: Also curious if you've ever taken a thermal image of a person with this camera that I could look at, curious how it directly compares to the heat signature of a fursuit.

The visible sensor is color. The IR color overwhelms it though.
I also always fill out surveys. (especially at work... they may be hiding them from me now...) I think the web survey showed up several weeks after last MFM, so give it a little time. I think there is a bit of recovery going on. (-: Check the MFM web site, it may have a reference to the survey as well.
I have taken pictures of plain old people with it, but thats not how the files are indexed... I'll find one in a bit.

After last year's MFM I got an email from them on September 8 with the survey link, though looking through my archives, I actually didn't get one from my first MFM (2016), I found the link on their twitter if I remember right. But both times it was less than 2 or so weeks after the con ended.
I don't see a survey link on their site and social media unless they posted it to Facebook only, which I avoid even connecting to at all costs (a few 0.0.0.0 hosts entries do well for one's privacy and mental health alike).
I've forgotten much worth commenting on in a survey about the con by now, aside from one or two small things (like the box o' forks in the critter cafe being spike-side-up, making an awkward moment or two when someone forgot/asked to be passed one and you grab it with your dirty hand by the fork end, wondering why they looked at you strange without realizing what you've done until later). I'm sure they already heard about that one during the con, though. Maybe they should dump the box onto a plate instead of playing Schrödinger's Cat with which side to open, that'd be a good suggestion (if I had their survey to tell them >_<).
