Finally got around to doing this lol~
This is my version/interperitation of the Karkadann from Eastern mythos, who inspired my species of god beasts the Uyali (who are currently undergoing refining).
"The Karkadann (Persian: كرگدن "Lord of the Desert") was a mythical unicorn-like creature said to live on the grassy plains of India, Persia and North Africa. The creature was quite similar to a rhinoceros. Upon its horn was an engraving with the head of a man.
Ibn Battuta in his travelogue, calls the rhinoceros he saw in India karkadann. The karkadann was an extremely ferocious beast, driving away from its territory animals as big as the elephant. It is said it would fight an elephant and kill it. It would then hoist it above its head in triumph using its horn, before going blind as the elephant's fat flowed into its eyes as it melted in the sun." - Wikipedia
My karkadann is nothing like a rhino in appearance! XD Instead they look more equine, which works for what I'm planning on doing with them and the Uyali. I tried to do a few things to give them a rhino feel, such as the feet, build, and double horns as opposed to one. So far I like where its going in these sketches and I think I might have a solid design soon. :D

This is really amazing, SoulsPoison. Very nice design and very nicely drawn.
I did see one small problem with it, however - if you don't mind me pointing it out: the bottom view of the foot should have the toes pointing downwards, as they would be if one were to look at a lifted foot. The view you have here gives the impression that one is looking at a hand, instead of a foot.
Either way, like I said, this is a very nice picture. I can only imagine what it might look like if your scarily excellent skills at coloring were applied to it!
Fav'd for sure, this one.

Thank you! :D
Yeah, that foot is fucking fail, but I was working without reference when I drew this. XD I was supposed to be listening to lecture but was doodling in my sketchbook instead. Of course I came back and gathered reference of hippo feet because I had no clue what the bottoms of their feet looked like, but I had a general idea of what the rest of it did. When I draw another sheet of sketches I shouuuuuuuld have correct foot anatomy! 8D

While the sickly calf look was interesting, I always thought the powerhouse rhino beast one looked more appealing. :D I wanted to go with the doube horn idea since it plays well into the relationship between the Karkadann and the Uyali. Don't want to reveal too much just yet~ XD

Hee. I am a bit of a geek when it comes to prehistoric animals. When all the other little girls wanted to be prima ballerinas and whatnot, I wanted to be a paleontologist. 8D
Haha yes, eohippus was TINY, but it was the feet, tail and the short neck that made the connection for me, haha. XD
